Keagan Thomas rounded off a wire-to-wire victory on Wednesday with a closing three-under-par 69 to win the IGT Challenge Tour’s Road to the Sunshine Tour #4 at Bryanston Country Club.

He made six birdies and three bogeys to finish on 12-under-par for the 54-hole tournament. That put him two shots clear of Arno Pretorius, who carded a third-round 68 to fall just short. Amateur Conner Mackenzie was in third, on nine-under, after closing with a two-under-par 70. Veteran Ulrich van den Berg shared fourth with French amateur Jules Helary and South African amateur Kian Rose.

Thomas started well, with three bridies in the first seven holes, on the first, the fourth and the seventh, but he dropped a shot on the ninth to turn in two-under 34. He picked up another birdie on the 13th, but it became interesting after that as he made consecutive bogeys on 14 and 15.

At that point, Pretorius had progressed to nine-under for the tournament, and had momentum going for him. He birdied 17, as well, but Thomas has steadied the ship and made consecutive birdies on 16 and 17 to re-establish his solid lead.

A steady par on the last hole was enough for Thomas to take the win.
