Follett-Smith rounds out solid week with 9th in Sweden

Benjamin Follett-Smith of Zimbabwe rounded out a very solid week on Sunday with a closing two-under-par 69 giving him a ninth-place finish in the Challenge Tour’s Indoor Golf Group Challenge at Landeryds Golfklubb in Vesterby, Sweden.

Despite two early bogeys on the first and third holes, Follett-Smith made five birdies and one more bogey on the final day, and his finish will see him climb one place on the Road to Mallorca rankings to 14th as he takes another step to earning his DP World Tour card for next season.

He finished the week on 14-under-par, seven strokes behind the winner, Maximilian Rottluff of Germany. Rottluff made made eight birdies and a double-bogey on his way to a six-under-par 65 and a three-stroke margin over runners-up Jesper Kristian Anderssen of Denmark and Sweden’s Jesper Svensson on 18-under.

Behind Follett-Smith, Jacques Kruyswijk slipped to a one-over 72 in the final round to finish in a share of 42nd on six-under for the week.
