Jbe’ Kruger carded a two-under-par 70 on Friday in the second round of the Asian Tour’s Mercuries Taiwan Masters at Taiwan Golf & Country Club in New Taipei City to move inside the top 10 as play heads into the weekend.
Kruger followed his opening one-over-par 73 with four birdies and two bogeys in the second round and he was in a share of seventh. At one-under-par for the tournament, he was just three shots behind the leader, Ben Campbell of New Zealand. Campbell had a three-under 69 to move to four-under, and a one-shot lead over Dodge Kemmer of the United States, his compatriot Jarin Todd, and S Chikkarangappa of India.
In a share of seventh with Kruger and three others on one-under was Jaco Ahlers, who had a second round of two-over-par 74 after overcoming a bogey and a double-bogey in his first three holes.
Ian Snyman and Neil Schietekat both missed the cut after rounds of 73 and 77 respectively.
