Lee-Anne Pace climbed into a share of 11th on Saturday after a second round of two-under-par 71 in the Ladies European Tour’s Aramco Team Series-Hong Kong at Hong Kong Golf Club.

Pace made four birdies and two bogeys – all on the back nine – as she moved to three-under-par for the tournament. That put her eight strokes behind the lead at 11-under which was shared by Jin Young Ko of Korea and China’s Xi Yu Lin. Ko had a three-under 70 in the second round and Xi a seven-under-par 66. They were one clear of Anne van Dam of the Netherlands, who signed for a four-under 69.

World number three Ko led after the first round and had a solid day with five birdies and two bogeys. “The round was very windy, it was hard to focus with the wind out there,” said the two-time Major champion. “I played really well today, I made some good putts. I’m very happy to finish with three-under. I try to think about nothing on the golf course and just hit some balls and talk with my partners.”

Chinese star Lin had an excellent second day, rolling in birdies on two, three and four before dropping her only shot of the day on the fifth. The 27-year-old then made another three birdies on the trot on 10, 11 and 12 before adding two more on 14 and 16 for her round of 66.

In a share of 11th with pace was Nicole Garcia, who followed up her opening three-under 70 with a level-par 73. She made five birdies, three bogeys and a double-bogey.

Casandra Alexander missed the cut after improving from her first-round 83 to a two-over 75 in the second round.
