Brandon Stone carded his best round of the tournament on Sunday when he carded a four-under-par 68 in the third round of the Challenge Tour’s Hainan Open at Danzhou Ancient Saltern Golf Club in Hainan Island, China.
Coupled with his opening 69 and his second-round 71, he moved to eight-under for the tournament. With the final round looking, he was six strokes behind the leader, Steven Brown of England, whose 66 took him to 14-under. That was two clear of Joel Girrbach of Switzerland.
Stone made five birdies and a bogey to continue what has been a solid week with only three bogeys and a double on his card. He is projected to stay in 13th place on the Road to Mallorca rankings, and, as a result, is on course to regain his DP World Tour card.
Casey Jarvis slipped to a two-over-par 74 in his third round, dropping to a share of 29th on five-under through 54 holes.
