A bogey-free four-under-par 69 on Sunday kept Cara Gorlei right in the thick of things as she moved to six-under-par through 36 holes and a share of 11th after the second round of the Ladies European Tour’s Lalla Aicha Q-School Final Stage.
The tournament is 90 holes of stroke-play competition with a cut after 72 holes with top 65 and ties progressing to the final day. For the first four rounds, competitors alternate between Royal Golf Marrakech and Al Maaden Golf Marrakech. The fifth round will be played on Al Maaden Golf Marrakech. Gorlei’s second round was on the par-73 Royal Golf Marrakech.
At stake for the South African, should she finish inside the top 20, is category 12 membership of the Ladies European Tour. Players finished 21st to 50th and ties will gain category 16 membership, and players outside the top 50 and ties get category 19 membership. Any players who make the cut but finish outside the Top 50 and ties will be eligible for LET membership in category 19.
Stacy Bregman was in a share of 51st after a better second round: She carded a three-under 70 at Royal Golf Marrakech to be one-under through 36. Amateur Danielle du Toit was in 96th on three-over after a two-over 75 on the same course, and Lejan Lewthwaite had a level-par 73 to be in a share of 111th.
