Werner Deyzel made a monster birdie putt on the final hole on Wednesday to seal his third successive title in the Bushveld Tour’s Race to Q-School series in the seventh event at Killarney Country Club.
That final birdie sealed a superb closing round of five-under-par 65 and gave him a one-stroke margin at six-under-par over runner-up Otto van Buynder, who closed with a one-under 69. Deyzel had an eagle on the fifth, and four other birdies to go with the one on the 18th, and just two bogeys as he solidified his place atop the Race to Q-School Order of Merit.
Reece McKain finished third on three-under-par, and Francois van der Walt and Stals Swart shared fourth on one-under.
There are 13 tournaments in the series, which will be followed by the Tour Championship on May 2 at Ebotse.
