Oliver Bekker closed with a four-under-par 66 on Sunday to finish in a share of fourth in the Challenge Tour’s Abu Dhabi Challenge at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club in Abu Dhabi.

Bekker dropped his only shot of the day on the 18th, which dropped him out of fourth place on his own. He finished the week at 20-under-par, four strokes behind the winner, Garrick Porteous of England. Porteous finished one clear of France’s Alexander Levy with his bogey-free 63 trumping Levey’s two bogeys in his 64. Nicolai Kristensen of Denmark was third on 22-under.

It was a poor day at the office for Wilco Nienaber, who shared the lead heading into the final round after two successive rounds without dropping a shot. That streak was broken when he started the final round with a bogey. Although he made three birdies – on the seventh, 12th and 18th – he also made two more bogeys as well as a triple-bogey seven on the ninth and a double-bogey five on the 17th. He tumbled 37 places down the leaderboard into a share of 38th.

Behind Bekker, Deon Germishuys climbed seven places to finish inside the top 10 with a closing six-under-par 64 taking him to 18-under-par and a share of 10th. Justin Walters had a four-under 66 to finish in a share of 19th on 15-under, together with Dylan Mostert, who finished up with a five-under 65. JJ Senekal was in a share of 43rd after a fourth round of one-under 69.
