Cara Gorlei held on tenaciously on Saturday during the third round of the Ladies European Tour’s Amundi German Masters with a level-par 72 keeping her at level-par for the tournament and in a share of 21st.
Two early bogeys made things difficult for Gorlei, but she made two birdies on the fifth and the ninth to pull things back to even-par ahead of the turn. Once again, she made two bogeys after that, on the 13th and 15th, before dragging things back again with birdies on 16 and 17.
Conditions have been tough throughout at Golf & Country Club Seddiner See near Berlin with the wind, and, at level-par, Gorlei is seven back from the lead which was shared by Austria’s Emma Spitz and Germany’s Alexander Forsterling after rounds of 66 and 69 respectively. They led by one from Ana Belac of Slovenia and Patricia Schmidt of Germany.
South African rookie Danielle du Toit battled her way to a third-round 75, and she was on two-over through 54 holes in a share of 31st.
Nicole Garcia also had a 75 in the third round, and, at three-over, she was in a share of 38th. One shot further back in a share of 43rd, was Lee-Anne Pace, who had a four-over 76.
