Another top 10 for Els in Canada in Rogers Charity Classic

Ernie Els closed with a four-under-par 66 on Sunday to finish in 10th place in the PGA Tour Champions tournament, the Rogers Charity Classic at Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

After opening with a one-under-par 69, Els followed up over the weekend with a five-under 65 and his closing 66 to finish on 10-under-par. That put him seven strokes behind the winner, Ken Tanigawa of the United States, who closed with a six-under 64 to beat Australia’s Richard Green by two strokes.

Els remained at the top of the PGA Tour Champions Schwab Cup rankings with his six birdies and two bogeys. He’s ahead of Stephen Ames of Canada in second, and Steven Alker of New Zealand is in third as the season heads towards the Charles Schwab Cup Championship on November 7.

David Frost closed with a one-over-par 71 to move to two-under for the tournament and a share of 57th.
