Thomas Aiken has dipped back inside the world’s top 400 this week on the latest Official World Golf Ranking list after his share of 12th in last week’s DP World Tour tournament in the Czech Republic.

While he had been ranked as high as 73rd, Aiken has been working at getting back to playing on a regular exemption on the DP World Tour, and he climbed 34 places to 394th after the D+D REAL Czech Masters, where he shared 12th with Robin Williams, amongst others.

Williams was also up after that performance, and he’s ranked the seventh-best South African player, according to the rankings. In reaching his career-high position of 279th, Williams leapfrogged Garrick Higgo and Dylan Frittelli. But for his last two holes in the Czech Republic, Williams could be even higher on his way to the world’s top 200.

Outside South Africa’s top 25, veteran Jean Hugo climbed 161 places after his win in the Sunshine Tour’s Vodacom Origins of Golf event at Highland Gate. It was his 12th title in the series, which is a record, and his 20th Sunshine Tour title.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout remained in 45th place after his share of 22nd in the PGA Tour’s FedEx St Jude Championship, and is still South Africa’s top-ranked golfer according to the official listing. Erik van Rooyen in 67th, up two places in 67th after his share of 33rd in the same tournament.
