Ashleigh Buhai might have bogeyed her first hole on Saturday, but she finished the third round with a flourish as she carded a four-under-par 68 in the LPGA Tour’s Kroger Queen City Championship at TPC River’s Bend in Maineville, Ohio.
Buhai made a birdie on the ninth to turn in level-par 36, and then she made four birdies without dropping a shot on the back nine as she moved to 10-under-par for the tournament and a share pf 11th.
That put her six strokes behind the lead which was held by Thailand’s Jeeno Thitikul, who also signed for a third round of four-under-par 68. Thitikul was two strokes clear of Olympic gold medallist Lydia Ko of New Zealand, who had a three-under 69 in the third round.
Buhai shared 11th with seven other players, including world number one Nelly Korda of the United States. She will play the final round in the same three-ball as Korda. There were 13 players in a share of 19th, one shot behind Buhai.
