Ian Snyman made three birdies in the final six holes on Saturday as he climbed into a share of 11th after the third round of the Asian Tour’s Black Mountain Championship in Thailand.
He made just a single birdie on the front nine, and then dropped a shot on the 11th after the turn. Then came his second birdie on the 13th, and he added two more on the 16th and 18th as he moved to 12-under-par for the tournament.
He was seven shots behind the leader, India’s Gahanjeet Bhullar, who had a six-under-par 66 for the second day in a row to move to 19-under and a two-stroke lead over John Catlin of the United States, who had a 65 in the third round.
Jaco Ahlers battled to match his opening rounds of 67 and 68, and his third round of one-under 71 had five birdies and four bogeys to put him in a share of 27th on 10-under-par.
David Meyers, who made the cut after his second round of five-under 67, slipped to a three-over 75 in the third round, and was on four-under in 69th.
