Nicole Garcia pulled off a top-10 finish on Saturday with a closing one-under-par 71 in the Ladies European Tour’s Aramco Team Series presented by PIF at Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia giving her a share of ninth.
Garcia made two birdies and a bogey to climb to seven-under-par. That put her 11 strokes behind a brilliant finish from England’s Charley Hull, whose six-under 66 took her to 18-under-par and a three-stroke margin over Nicole Broch Estrup of Denmark. Second-round leader, Pia Babnik of Slovenia, slipped to a one-over 873 in the final round and finished third on 13-under-par.
“I feel like my game’s been pretty good all season,” the 28-year-old Hull said. “I’ve been knocking on the door quite a lot over the past couple years and this week it all came together. I feel good. I’m going to get a hot chocolate [to celebrate], that’s about as exciting as it gets for me!
“I was actually in the gym this morning, I didn’t start my warm-up until 45 minutes before because I needed to get a 5k run in! I felt really strong out there.”
The triumph is Hull’s first since October 2022 which came on the LPGA Tour, fourth on the Ladies European Tour, and second at the Aramco Team Series (her last coming in 2021 in New York). Since her last win in Texas, Hull recorded eight runner-up finishes across both tours.
Casandra Alexander finished with a two-under-par 70 to reach four-under for the week and a share of 22nd.
