Ashleigh Buhai remained in a share of 21st on Friday after her second round of one-under-par 71 in the LPGA Tour’s Lotte Championship at Hoakalei Country Club in Ewa Beach, Hawaii.
Buhai had got it to three-under with three birdies through 12 holes in the second round, but two late bogeys, on the 15th and 16th, hampered her progress. She reached the 36-hole mark in the 54-hole tournament six strokes off the lead which was shared by Russia’s Nataliya Guseva after her five-under 67 in the second round took her to nine-under.
Guseva was in a share of the top spot with first-round leader A Lim Kim of Korea, Ruixin Liu of China, and Ryann O’Toole of the United States.
Paula Reto made the cut on the number after her second-round two-over-par 74 left her on level-par for the tournament. A double-bogey six on the sixth was costly for the other South African in the field.
