Dylan Naidoo made the best of the tough, windy conditions on Friday to card a second round of three-under-par 68 to move inside the top 10 at the halfway mark of the DP World Tour’s KLM Open just outside Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
It was a rocky front nine for the South African Open champion, who made three birdies, three pars and three bogeys on the front nine, but he was flawless on the back nine with three birdies. That moved him to two-under-par for the tournament and a share of eighth place.
He was six strokes behind the leader, Joakim Lagergren of Sweden. Lagergren also carded a 68 to get to eight-under and a two-stroke lead over first-round leader, Ricardo Gouveia of Portugal. Gouveia had a one-over 72 in his second round. Connor Syme of Scotland was third on five-under after his 72.
Gusts of over 36 kilometres per hour at The International in Amsterdam led to a suspension of over two hours on Friday afternoon, with Lagergren already safely in the clubhouse on eight-under-par after a battling 68.
Zander Lombard slipped to a two-over 73 in the tough conditions, and was in a share of 14th on one-under-par. Also on one-under after his level-par 71 was Jayden Schaper, while Dylan Frittelli was on level-par in a share of 20th after his one-over 72.
Richard Sterne made the cut on three-over after his second round of two-over 73
