Rebula hangs on in Czech Republic with battling 2nd-round 71

Jovan Rebula fought off a bad start on Friday to card a second-round total of level-par 71 in the second round of the HotelPlanner Tour’s Raiffeisenbank Golf Challenge at Kaskáda Golf Resort in Brno, Czech Republic.

Rebula, who led the first round, started his second round on the 10th hole, and was soon in trouble with a double-bogey six on the par-four 13th. He followed it with a bogey on the 14th, but he began his fight-back with a birdie on the 15th. He made three birdies on his homeward nine, on the fifth, sixth and ninth., but he dropped another shot on the seventh.

In the end, he reached the halfway mark of the tournament on seven-under in a share of 10th. He was just three strokes behind the four-way share of the lead. At the top of the leaderboard at 10-under were Stuart Manley, Sebastian Garcia, Joshua Berry and Jackson Palmer.

Three strokes behind Rebula, JC Ritchie climbed into a share of 21st on four-under with his second round of three-under-par 68.
