A late bogey on Thursday saw Christo Lamprecht sign for a three-under-par 69 in the first round of the Korn Ferry Tour’s The Ascendant presented by Blue at TPC Colorado in Berthoud, Colorado.
He made two birdies on each of his nines after starting on the 10th, and then dropped his only shot on the seventh to be in a share of 13th when play in the first round was suspended due to darkness after an earlier suspension for dangerous weather eld up play. The entire afternoon field needed to complete their rounds.
There were five players on five-under at the top of the leaderboard, with Pierceson Coody and Tom Whitney still to complete their rounds. The others in the lead were fellow-Americans Ross Steelman, Michael Johnson and Ian Holt.
The only other South African in the field was Barend Botha, and he was in a share of 41st on one-under-par.
