Garrick Higgo’s fine recent form on the PGA Tour continued on Sunday when he closed the Baycurrent Classic at Yokohama Country Club in Yokohama, Japan with a five-under-par 66 to finished in a share of fourth.

He added five birdies to his scorecard without dropping a shot in the final round, and, together with his opening round of level-par 71, his second round of six-under 66 and his third round of three-under 68, he finished on 14-under-par for the tournament.

That put him fives trokes behind the winner, Xander Schauffele of the United States, who closed with a seven-under 64 in front of his Japanese grandparents to hold off countryman Max Greyserman by one stroke. Greyserman almost holed out on 18 to force a play-off.

Higgo has finished inside the top 10 in the last three tournaments consecutively after missing the cut in the Wyndham Championship in August, and climbed from 88th on the FedExCup Fall rankings to the 57th he reached after the week in Japan.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout also finished strongly with a five-under 66 of his own to move to 11-under for the tournament and a share of 10th. He climbed to 66th in the FedExCup Fall rankings.

After his poor opening round of six-over 77, Aldrich Potgieter recovered with a second round of 65, and a pair of 68s in the third and fourth rounds saw him finish on six-under and a share of 33rd. He stayed in 52nd place on the FedExCup Fall rankings.
