Ian Snyman made his second three-under-par 69 of the week on Saturday as he stayed inside the top 10 heading into the final round of the Asian Tour’s Moutai Singapore Open at the Singapore Island Country Club.

Once again, as was the case in the second round, it was two dropped shots that cost him a share of the lead, but, at 13-under-par for 54 holes, he is just two strokes back as he will attempt a charge for victory in the final round.

In the second round, a late double-bogey cost him the lead, and in the third round, a pair of bogeys on five and nine cost him his chance of leading. He made five birdies, with three of them coming without a dropped shot on the homeward nine.

It was neck and neck all the way until the very end in the third round before overnight leader Soomin Lee from Korea, in front at the start of the day, edged ahead to lead after the third round with compatriot Jeunghun Wang and James Piot from the United States.

Lee, two ahead after round two, shot a 69, while Wang and Piot both returned 67s.

They lead on 15-under by one from Japan’s Yosuke Asaji (65), and Korean Bio Kim (67), in what is the penultimate event of the season on The International Series – the set of upper-tier events on the Asian Tour that offer a pathway to the LIV Golf League.

Thailand’s Jazz Janewattananond (68), the winner of this event in 2019 at a different venue, is another stroke back along with Australian Kevin Yuan and Snyman, both in with 69s.

Kieran Vincent of Zimbabwe was on 11-under in a share of 14th, while Jaco Ahlers was in a share of 18th on 10-under.
