A double-bogey to start and another to finish his second round on Friday saw Dylan Frittelli miss the cut by two shots in the PGA Tour’s RSM Classic at Sea Island Golf in St Simons Island, Georgia.

After a superb opening bogey-free seven-under-par 65 on the par-72 Plantation Course, with five of his birdies coming on the back nine on his way home, he started with a double-bogey on the 10th on the par-70 Seaside Course to get his second round off to a shaky start.

He bogeyed the 14th as well, before picking up his first birdie on the 16th ahead of the turn. With two more gains after the turn, on the first and the fifth, he seemed headed for action over the weekend.

But he made double again on the 18th when he hit his tee-shot right into the water. After taking his penalty drop, he hit his approach into a greenside bunker, 72 feet from the hole. He was unable to get up and down for his bogey.

In effect, that has put paid to his admittedly remote chances of playing his way back on to the PGA Tour for 2026. He is going to have to spend more time in Europe in the DP World Tour, or see if he can play his way back on to the main US circuit through the Korn Ferry Tour.
