On a day on which low scores were at a premium, Stals Swart’s one-under-par 69 on Wednesday was enough to win the Bushveld Tour’s Race to Q-School #5 at Killarney Country Club.
It was a bogey-free effort by the Sunshine Tour professional in an event loaded with his fellow Sunshine Tour pros who took the opportunity for a hit-out ahead of the opening event of 2026 on that circuit next week.
Swart made an early birdie on the fourth hole in the final round, and then parred his way home to finish on six-under-par for the 54-hole tournament. That gave him a two-stroke edge over two-time Sunshine Tour winner Heinrich Bruiners, who matched the low round of the day with his three-under 67.
In a share of second with Bruiners were amateur Judd Sundelson, who closed with a level-par 70, England’s Joe Knox and first-round leader Thabiso Ngcobo, both of whom signed for a closing one-over-par 71.
Jaques Blaauw, who was the 36-hole leader, closed with a four-over-par 74, and was unable to defend his lead as he finished in a share of seventh.
