Jayden Schaper claimed his sixth top-10 finish in his last 10 starts on the DP World Tour when he finished in a share of fourth on Sunday in the Hero Dubai Desert Classic at the Emirates Golf Club.
Schaper closed with a two-under-par 70 to move to eight-under-par for the tournament, six strokes behind the winning total of 14-under-par. Patrick Reed of the United States had a level-par 72 to finish up his week, and won his first Rolex Series event by four strokes from England’s Andy Sullivan.
Schaper made an early bogey on the fourth hole, but he was flawless for the rest of the round with birdies on seven, 10 and 13 on a day when low rounds were hard to come by. His performance keeps him at the top of the Race to Dubai rankings for 2026, with Reed moving into second place behind him.
Schaper’s 2026 season on the Rac to Dubai features two wins, a second place and fourth this week, and a worst finish of a share of 20th in last week’s Dubai Invitational.
Amateur Christiaan Maas held on to a spot inside the top 10 with a closing level-par 72. That left him on six-under for the tournament and in a share of 10th.
Hennie du Plessis and Jacques Kruyswijk had top-20 finishes in a share of 19th on four-under-par after closing with 74 and 71 respectively.
Zander Lombard finished in a share of 26th and JC Ritchie in a share of 33rd. Casey Jarvis and Michael Hollick were in a share of 56th and Dylan Frittelli in 64th.
