It was another top-10 on the Asian Tour for Ian Snyman on Sunday as he closed the KOLON Korea Open Golf Championship at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club in Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea with a one-over-par 72.

He finished in a share of 10th on one-over for the week, and that was 10 strokes off the winning total of nine-under-par. Jiho Yang of Korea closed with a five-over-par 76 to win by four from Charlie Lindh of Sweden, who had a closing 73.

Yang led from wire-to-wire after having to qualify for the tournament. He also secured a place in The Open at Royal Birkdale in July, as the event was part of the Open Qualifying Series.

“It’s finally over!” said 41-year-old Yang, who will be making his debut in The Open. “And I think I can finally eat. I was so nervous this week, and I felt like I was throwing up without eating anything all day. I think I’ve had about eight bananas today and that’s it. I think I’m ready for a good night sleep tonight.”

It was a tough closing round, and Snyman turned in level-par with two birdies and two bogeys in the final four holes of the front nine. He stayed at even-par all the way through the back nine until he dropped a shot on the 17th.
