Kaiyuree Moodley overcame a double-bogey on her second hole on Wednesday to card an opening three-under-par 69 in the first round of the LET Access Tour’s Lavaux Ladies Open at Golf de Lavaux in Puidoux, Switzerland.

Moodley, who has had some starts on the Ladies European Tour this season, and is ranked a lowly 112th on the Access Tour rankings, made a five on the par-three second, as well as dropping a shot on each of the eighth and ninth. But she had three birdies on the front nine as she limited the damage to turn in one-over 37.

She got things together on the back nine, making four birdies – on the 10th, 13th, 14th and 16th – for her 69, and that left her in a share of 10th, just two shots off the top of the leaderboard.

France’s Anne-Charlotte Mora, South Korea’s Ayeon Yang and Austria’s Isabella Holpfer all fired rounds of five-under 67 to co-lead. The trio, who teed off in the afternoon wave, led six other players by one shot.

Moodley shared 10th with 10 other players on a tightly packed top end of the leaderboard, with 15 players just one shot further back on two-under in a share of 21st.

The cut line is currently projected to be even-par, with 47 players shooting one-under or better on a low scoring day.
