It was not the final round she would have wanted on Sunday as Casandra Alexander closed the Ladies European Tour’s Aramco Korea Championship with a one-over-par 73 at New Korea Country Club.
And it was the par-fives on which she would have expected to score well where she was not as good as she would have hoped, with just one birdie on the four of them. She bogeyed the first of them, the fifth, and parred the 13th and 17th after making birdie on the eighth.
Together with another birdie – on the par-three 11th – and two more bogeys on the ninth and the 12th, she eventually finished the tournament on six-under-par in a share of 30th.
She was a long way behind the winner, Miyu Yamashita of Japan, who had seven birdies and an eagle in her closing 63. At 22-under-par, she was three clear of Sara Kouskova of the Czech Republic, and a further three ahead of Hong Kong’s Ginnie Ding and Yani Tseng of Taipei.
It was the Japanese star’s second title on the Ladies European Tour, as she also won the 2025 AIG Women’s Open.
LET rookie duo Anna Morgan of the United States and Stephanie Bunque of Australia finished in a tie for fifth place on 14-under-par. Morgan had an excellent final day carding a seven-under 65 which included 10 birdies to move herself to the top of the Rookie of the Year standings.
