Richard Joubert birdied two of his last three holes on Friday to take the Bushveld Tour’s one-day event at the Els Club Copperleaf.
His three-under-par 69 was one better than the two-under 70s from Adam Breem, Nikhil Rama and Rupert Kaminski. Heinrich Bruiners, Keagan Thomas and Merrick Bremner shared fifth on one-under. Anthony Michael, Bradley Diggeden, Dylan Kok, Jan Carel Rossouw and Botswana’s Stuart Smith.
Joubert picked up two birdies – on the par-fives four and eight – on the front nine, and undid all of that good work with a double-bogey six on the 12th. But he got himself back on track immediately with a birdie on the 13th, and then he picked up two more shots on 16 and 17 to secure his victory.
