Paula Reto opened her 2022 campaign on the LPGA Tour with a battling two-over-par 74 on Thursday in the first round of the Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio in Florida.
Reto made a birdie and three bogeys in her round, leaving her in a share of 87th and with work to do in the second round if she is to make the cut. She was 11 shots off the first-round lead which was held by New Zealand’s Lydia Ko at nine-under-par 63. Ko led by two from Danielle Kang of the United States, with India’s Aditi Ashok on third on six-under-par.
South Africa’s number one Ashleigh Buhai also had a birdie and three bogeys in her opening round for her 74, and was also in a share of 87th.
