Lee-Anne Pace finished the first round of the Ladies European Tour’s Jabra Ladies Open at Evian Resort Golf Club on Thursday in a share of 10th place after she carded a one-under-par 70.
Pace made five birdies and four bogeys and ended up four shots off the lead which was held by Spain’s Carmen Alonso. Alonso’s five-under 66 had seven birdies and two bogeys and that put her a shot clear of Australia’s Whitney Hillier and Gabrielle Macdonald of Scotland. There were five players in a share of fourth on three-under, and Pace shared 10th with five other players.
One stroke behind pace on level-par was Casandra Alexander, who had two birdies and two bogeys. Nicole Garcia was down in a share of 35th on two-over 73, while Lejan Lewthwaite was on three-over in a share of 50th. Stacy Bregman was on five-over and Nadia van der Westhuizen battled her way to 13-over.
Nobuhle Dlamini of eSwatini carded an opening seven-over-par 78.
