JC Ritchie closed with a level-par 72 on Sunday to finish in a share of 24th in the DP World Tour’s Dutch Open at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, Netherlands.
He was three-under for the tournament, 10 strokes behind the winner Victor Perez of France. Perez produced putting perfection in a sudden-death play-off with Kiwi Ryan Fox on the fourth extra hole. Poland’s Adrian Meronk was a shot further back in third, and the trio all played their way into the 150th Open Championship at St Andrews in July.
Darren Fichardt was the next-best of the South Africans, closing with a three-under 69 to get to one-under and a share of 37th. Daniel van Tonder had a three-over 75 to finish three-over for the week in 47th, with Hennie du Plessis going four-over in the last round for a share of 56th on four-over.
Wilco Nienaber, Dean Burmester, Haydn Porteous, George Coetzee, Thriston Larence, Brandon Stone, Justin Walters, Oliver Bekker and Zander Lombard all missed the cut.
On the Challenge Tour, Bryce Easton closed with a one-under-par 70 on Sunday in the Farmfoods Scottish Challenge supported by The R&A at Newmachar Golf Club in Aberdeenshire to finish in a share of 49th.
The tournament was won by Javier Sainz of Spain on the second play-off hole from Jeremy Freiburghaus of Switzerland after the pair were locked together on 11-under after regulation play.
Luke Jerling made the cut, and finished with a level-par 71 to be eight-over for the week in 65th. Ruan Conradie missed the cut.
