He made a bogey on the fourth hole of the day, but Ian Snyman was impeccable for the rest of the third round on Saturday of the Asian Tour’s International Series England at Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort as he carded a two-under-par 69 for a share of fifth.
He got things back on track with consecutive birdies on seven and eight, and then made another birdie on the par-five 12th. He made his way to six-under-par for the tournament, two shots off the pace being set by Australia’s Travis Smyth, whose five-under 66 gave him a one-stroke lead over Thailand’s Sadom Kaewkanjana, Joohyung Kim of South Korea and Zimbabwean Scott Vincent.
Snyman shared fifth with two other South Africans, as Neil Schietekat carded a one-under 70 and Justin Harding a level-par 71. Both those players made double-bogey on the par-four ninth which somewhat spoiled their rounds. Schietekat made eagle on 11, with four birdies and three bogeys to go with that double. Harding had three birdies and a bogey in addition to the double drop.
Vincent made bogey on the last to drop out of a share of the lead.
Jaco Ahlers was in a share of 13th after his third-round one-under took him to three-under for the tournament. Brazilian Adilson Da Silva carded a level-par 71 to be one-under and in a share of 19th. Bryce Easton had a two-over and Keith Horne a six-over to be in 48th and 66th respectively.
