It was a quiet finish for Tristen Strydom on Sunday as he carded a closing one-over-par 71 in the final round of the Challenge Tour’s Emporda Challenge in Spain to finish in a share of 20th.

After three rounds of two-under 68, Strydom got a birdie on the third hole of the final round, but then he made three bogeys in a row from the fifth, which turned his final round into a bit of a battle for survival. Birdies in 11 and 16 were tempered by another bogey on 14.

At five-under, he was eight shots behind the winner, Liam Johnston of England, who closed out his second Challenge Tour win with a three-under 67. He was two clear of Todd Clements.

Luke Jerling also battled in the final round, his two-over 72 seeing him finish on three-under for the week in a share of 29th. Jayden Schaper had his second successive four-over 74 to finish on eight-over in 59th out of 60 who made the cut.
