Bryce Easton posted an opening six-under-par 64 on Thursday in the first round of the Challenge Tour’s Blot Open de Bretagne in France to take up a share of second, three shots off the lead.
It was a bogey-free performance for Easton, who opened with a birdie on the first. He picked up another shot on the fourth, and parred his way to the turn which he reached in two-under 33. Immediately after the turn, he made two birdies in a row on 10 and 11, and then two in a row again on 14 and 15.
Easton shared second with Dimension Data Pro-Am winner Alexander Knappe of Germany, Frenchman Robin Sciot-Siegrist and Spain’s Borja Virto. They trailed Ireland’s Ruaidhri McGee, who had two eagles, two bogeys and seven birdies in his nine-under 61.
Jaco Prinsloo opened with a three-under 67 for a share of 14th, while Luke Jerling and Jayden Schaper had two-under 68s for their first rounds to be in a share of 22nd. Deon Germishuys, Tristen Strydom and Pieter Moolman were on level-par after the first round and were in 51st.
