Jayden Schaper stayed in the hunt on Friday when he signed for a two-under-par 70 in the second round of the Challenge Tour’s Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge in France.

He was five-under for the tournament after 36 holes, in a share of 13th place. That was five shots behind the leader, Nathan Kimsey of England. Kimsey led by two from Peter Launer Baek of Denmark, Jeong weon Ko of South Korea and first-round leader Craig Ross of Scotland.

Schaper had four birdies and two bogeys in his round, and was two ahead of fellow-South African Deon Germishuys, who had a five-under 67 in his second round to move to three-under for the tournament and a share of 28th.

Bryce Easton, Jacques Blaauw, Ruan Conradie, Pieter Moolman and Luke Jerling all missed the cut.
