Paula Reto turned things around on Friday with a bogey-free four-under-par 68 in the second round of the LPGA Tour’s Kroger Queen City Championship helping her make the cut and lifting her into a share of 45th.
She started the day at two-over on the 10th hole, and got things to even-par for the tournament with successive birdies on the 13th and 14th. She picked up two more strokes on the second and the sixth, and reached halfway 11 strokes off the lead which was held by South Korean Jeongeun Lee6 who had nine birdies in her second-round 63. Lee6 led by one from China’s Xiyu Lin with American ally Ewing in third on 11-under.
Reto shared 45th place with the returning Paula Creamer and 14 other players.
Women’s Open champion Ashleigh Buhai was unable to make it to the weekend after a second round of three-over 75 saw he finish 36 holes at two-over, with the cut falling at one-under.
