Chris Long had two eagles in his superb round of eight-under-par 64 on Thursday to take the Bushveld Tour’s one-day event at Centurion Country Club.

Long got his eagles on the first and the ninth, and he also made six birdies and two bogeys on his way to a comprehensive three-stroke victory over Dylan O’Leary, Noel Anderson and Ruan Groenewald, who would all have been chagrined to find five-under-par was not enough to win.

Long’s eagles, two birdies and a bogey were enough to see Long turn in five-under and already pretty much in charge – except for the efforts of Paulo Serrao who had five birdies in his opening nine to match him.

Long made three more birdies on 12, 14 and 15 before his second dropped shot on 16. But he made birdie on the last to seal an impressive victory.
