Christiaan Bezuidenhout stayed in a share of 17th on Saturday after his second successive four-under-par 67 in the third round of the PGA Tour’s Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It was a bogey-free effort from Bezuidenhout, who made a birdie on the second hole, but pars for the rest of the front nine, and then picked up shots on the 12th, 16th and 17th as he moved to 11-under for the tournament. He was eight shots behind the lead which was shared by Patrick Cantlay of the United States, who had a course-record 11-under 60 in the third round, and Tom Kim of Korea, who signed for a 62. They were three strokes clear of Matthew NeSmith of the United States and Mito Pereira of Chile.
Dean Burmester’s two-under-par 69 only saw him slip down the leaderboard by 14 places into a share of 40th at eight-under for the tournament.
