De Jager just 2 back after first round at Valderrama

Louis de Jager fired a three-under-par 68 in the first round of the DP World Tour’s Estrella Damm NA Andalucia Masters at Valderrama in Spain to be just two shots off the lead.

De Jager continued his recent good form with an eagle, four birdie and three bogeys, and was in a share of eighth. The lead was shared at five-under by five players, David Horsey of England, Australia’s Min Woo Lee, Jazz Janewattananond of Thailand, Spaniard Pep Angles and Soren Kjeldsen of Sweden.

Thriston Lawrence as a shot further back on two-under-par in a share of 13th after his round of five birdies and three bogeys. Zander Lombard was on one-over, while Justin Walters, Erik van Rooyen and Darren Fichardt were all on three-over. Richard Sterne carded five-over and Brandon Stone was on six-over.
