Nicole Garcia kept herself right in the mix on Friday with a two-under-par second round of 70 to head into the final round of the Ladies European Tour’s Aramco Team Series Jeddah at the Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia.
That took her to seven-under-par for the tournament and a share of fifth place with Ana Pelaez Trivino of Spain. They were two shots off the lead which was held by Charley Hull of England, who had a second-round 65 to move to nine-under. Hull was one stroke clear of Caroline Hedwall of Sweden, Italy’s Virginia Elena Carta and Slovenian Pia Babnik, who, like Hull, had a 65 in the second round.
It was a bit more of a battle for Garcia in the second round, with her five good birdies countered by a bogey and a double-bogey.
South African Women’s Open champion Lee-Anne Pace carded a four-under 68 to move into a share of 13th place on five-under. Casandra Alexander and Stacy Bregman were on one-under in a share of 32nd after rounds of 72 and 73 respectively.
