Schaper shrugs off bogeys, lies 3rd in Magical Kenya Open

Jayden Schaper fought off the effects of three bogeys on Saturday to card a two-under-par 69 in the third round of the DP World Tour’s Magical Kenya Open at Muthaiga Golf Club in Nairobi.

That gave him a share of third place heading into the final round at 11-under-par for the tournament, two shots off the lead which was held by Jorge Campillo of Spain. Campillo had an eight-under 63 to pull a stroke clear of Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre, who carded a six-under-par 65. In a share of third with Schaper was Masahiro Kawamura of Japan, who signed for a three-under 68 to move to 11-under.

Two shots behind Shaper was JC Ritchie, who climbed the leaderboard into the top 10 with his five-under-par 66 lifting him into a share of sixth place.

Justin Harding had a three-under 68 to move to six-under for the tournament and a share of 22nd. Daniel van Tonder was in a share of 28th with Wilco Nienaber and Dylan Mostert after they had rounds of 70, 72 and 72 respectively.

Bryce Easton was on four-under after a level-par 71 put him in a share of 36th, while Tristen Strydom, Oliver Bekker, Louis de Jager and Casey Jarvis were all on three-under in a share of 44th. Justin Walters and Shaun Norris were on two-under, Deon Germishuys on one-under and Thomas Aiken on one-over.
