Snyman goes 2-under for 15th in opening round in India

Ian Snyman opened the Asian Tour’s DGC Open in New Delhi, India, on Thursday with a two-under-par 70 to be in a share of 15th place after the first round.

Snyman made five birdies and three bogeys, and he was five shots off the lead, which was held at seven-under-par by Bangladesh’s Siddikur Rahman. Rahman made seven birdies and no bogeys to lead Justin Quiban of the Philippines, Thailand’s Nitithorn Thippong and Rashid Khan of India by two strokes. There were six players on four-under-par in a share of fifth.

The other South African in the field was MJ Viljoen, and he opened his campaign with a one-under-par 71 for a share of 24th.
