Despite his three-under-par 69 on Saturday in the second round of the Legends Tour’s Irish Legends at Seapoint Golf Club in Louth, Ireland, lifting him to a share of second, Adilson Da Silva has probably resigned himself to a chase for second place when the final round gets underway.

With England’s Peter Baker carding a nine-under 63 in the second round as he stretched to 15-under through 36 holes, Da Silva, together with Argentina’s Ricardo Gonzalez and Michael Long of New Zealand know that an 11-stroke margin is probably too big to eradicate in just the 18 remaining holes. They were all on four-under after the second round.

Other than Baker’s extraordinary card which had 10 birdies and a bogey, Da Silva’s was the joint best of the second round, and it included five birdies and two bogeys.

Chris Williams was one of the other players who had a second-round 69, and he moved to three-under for the tournament and a share of fifth. Keith Horne had a level-par 72 to be one-over through 36 holes and in a share of 15th. James Kingston had a four-over 76 and was on 11-over in a share of 54th.
