Brandon Stone closed with a three-under-par 69 on Sunday to get himself a top-10 finish in the Challenge Tour’s Big Green Egg German Challenge at Wittelsbacher Golfclub in Neuburg an der Donau, Germany.
His four birdies and a bogey saw him climb 29 places on the leaderboard, and he finished the tournament on three-under-par. That was four shots behind the winner, Italy’s Francesco Laporta, who closed with a level-par 72 to reach seven-under. He was a shit ahead of England’s Gary Boyd and Ashley Chesters, Jiri Zuska of the Czech Republic and Germany’s Dominic Foos.
The other two South Africans who made the cut, Jaco Prinsloo and Pieter Moolman, finished in a share of 40th. Prinsloo dropped 24 places with his closing five-under-par 77, and Moolman had a 74 as they finished on two-over for the tournament.
