Paula Reto steadied her ship on Friday with a second-round one-under-par 71 putting her in a share of 39th at the halfway mark of the Freed Group Women’s Scottish Open at Dundonald Links Golf Course in Troon, Scotland.
It was a tough start to the day for those who went out in the windy morning conditions as Reto did, and her four birdies and three bogeys was a solid return for some solid play. She moved to level-par for the tournament, which was 12 strokes off the lead with some typical Scottish weather forecast for the weekend.
Hinako Shibuno of Japan produced a round of four-under 68 on the second day to hold a two-shot lead. It was an impressive second round for Maja Stark who fired a seven-under 65 to climb into second place on 10-under-par. France’s Celine Boutier and Australia’s Sarah Kemp were in a share of third place on seven-under-par after they both fired rounds of 68.
Lee-Anne Pace had a level-par 72 in the second round, and, at two-over, was in a share of 53rd. Casandra Alexander also made the cut after a second-round 74 left her also in a share of 53rd.
Ashleigh Buhai and Nicole Garcia both missed the cut.
