Lee-Anne Pace was the top South African finisher on Sunday with a two-under-par 70 in the final round of the Freed Groop Women’s Scottish Open lifting her to a share of 35th at the Dundonald Links.
Pace had a great front nine, with an eagle two on the ninth adding to the two birdies she made on three and five. She battled to keep it together on the homeward nine, with just one birdie and three bogeys seeing her finish on one-under for the tournament.
Pace was 14 shots behind the winner, Celine Boutier of France, who added to her major championship victory last week with a second-successive victory. Boutier’s 15-under was two strokes clear of runner-up Hyo-Joo Kim of Korea.
Casandra Alexander also finished with a two-under-par 70, lifting her to a share of 47th on one-over. Paula Reto had a closing 76 to be in a share of 55th on three-over.
