Keith Horne closed out his final round with an eagle on Sunday to climb into a share of fifth place in the PGA Tour Champions Boeing Classic in Snoqualmie in Washington.
Horne started the final round in 20th, and got into his work early with three birdies in the first four holes. But things went a little awry for a while with a bogey on the fifth and a double on the seventh. His birdie on the sixth helped him turn in one-under 35, but he was flawless coming home, with birdies on 10, 15 and 17 before his eagle from the fringe of the final hole.
After rounds of 72 and 70, his closing 66 took him to eight-under for the tournament. That was 11 strokes behind the runaway winner, Stephen Ames of Canada, who closed with a nine-under 63 to best Miguel Angel Jimenez by seven shots. Steven Alker and KJ Choi shared third, and Horne shared fifth with Stuart Appelby and Bernhard Langer.
Ernie Els closed with a one-over 73 to finish in a share of 18th on four-under for the tournament.
