Casey Jarvis made a hole-in-one on Saturday on his way to a four-under-par 67 in the third round of the DP World Tour’s KLM Open at The International in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Jarvis holed his tee-shot from 217 yards on the seventh hole after he had started fast with three birdies in a row from the third hole. He bogeyed the eighth and 13th, and picked up one more birdie on the 11th as he climbed to a share of 12th ahead of the final round.
Mikko Korhonen of Finland will take a one-shot lead into the final round as he goes in search of a wire-to-wire victory. The Finn started his week with a brilliant 64 containing a hole-in-one and has been on top ever since, following a second-round 68 with a 70 to get to 11-under.
Italian Guido Migliozzi carded the lowest round of the day with a 66 to become the nearest challenger, one clear of countryman Matteo Manassero, American Sean Crocker and Dane Rasmus Højgaard.
There is more than just the trophy at stake this week, with Korhonen and Migliozzi currently on track to earn spots at The Open Championship as the two leading players not already exempt.
Thomas Aiken was in a share of 15th on five-under after his third round of one-over 72.
Robin Williams and Jayden Schaper were on two-under in a share of 35th after rounds of level-par and two-over respectively.
Darren Fichardt was on one-over and Jaco Prinsloo on two-over. Zander Lombard battled to a seven-over 78 and Ockie Strydom had a 10-over 81.
