Cara Gorlei made a hole-in-one on Sunday on her way to a closing round of three-under-par 69 and a share of 19th place in the Ladies European Tour’s Amundi German.

Gorlei, who won the Jabra Ladies Classic in April on the Sunshine Ladies Tour, aced the par-three 11th Masters at Golf & Country Club Seddiner See outside Berlin. In addition to that, she made three birdies and two bogeys to finish the windy and difficult week on three-under-par.

That put her nine strokes behind the play-off between local Alexandra Försterling and Austria’s Emma Spitz. Försterling, the Berlin native, sunk her birdie putt on the second play-off hole to defeat close friend Spitz and secure her fourth LET title, which have all come in her last 11 starts. Having not played on the LET since her victory in Tampa, it also means Försterling has now won in her last two starts on the LET in 2024.

“I am honestly completely speechless,” said the German star. “After I saw the putt drop, I was like oh my god. I would never have expected it. It really feels great. It honestly feels like a dream, I just never expected it, and it feels so amazing!”

England’s Gabriella Cowley had another excellent day shooting a six-under 66 to finish in outright third place on 10-under-par. Germany’s Laura Fünfstück produced the round of the day firing a 64 to finish in a tie for fourth place alongside Australia’s Kirsten Rudgeley, who carded a 65.

Behind Gorlei, Lee-Anne Pace finished fast with a six-under 66 for a share of 21st, and rookie Danielle du Toit had a closing 69 to finish one-under for the tournament in a share of 24th. Nicole Garcia had a 70 and was in a share of 39th on one-over.
