Ahlers 4 back after 1st round of BNI Indonesian Masters

Jaco Ahlers made six birdies and a double-bogey on Thursday to be in a share of 10th place after the first round of the Asian Tour’s BNI Indonesian Masters at Royale Jakarta Golf Club in Jakarta, Indonesia.

His four-under-par 67 put him four shots behind the lead which was held by Gaganjeet Bhullar of India who went bogey-free in his eight-under-par 63. Bhullar was two strokes ahead of American Paul Peterson, Phachara Khongwatmai of Thailand and India’s Honey Baisoya. There were five players on five-under in a share of fifth.

Ian Snyman was the next-best of the South Africans in the field with his two-under-par 69 putting him in a share of 30th, while Neil Scheitekat, who won the Vodacom Origins of Golf Final at Pezula in his last outing, on one-under in a share of 51st. Jbe’ Kruger opened with a level-par 71 for a share of 68th.

Play was suspended for the first round with 18 players still on the course.
