Jaco Ahlers kept himself in the hunt for a top-10 finish on Friday with a second round of three-under-par 69 in the Asian Tour’s BNI Indonesian Masters at Royale Jakarta Golf Club.
That gave him a halfway score of seven-under-par after his opening 68, and he was in a share of 12th. He was eight strokes off the lead which was held by Canada’s Richard T Lee, who added a five-under-par 67 to his opening 10-under 62. Lee led by three from Thailand’s Jazz Janewattananond, while India’s Rashid Khan and Zimbabwe’s Keiran Vincent were another two shots back in a share of third on 10-under-par.
Ahlers made plenty of birdies in his second round, with six gains, but he dropped three shots with bogeys on the second, 10th and 13th.
Jbe’ Kruger improved on his opening 70 with a three-under 69 in the second round, and he was in a share of 32nd on five-under, together with the older Vincent brother, Scott.
Ian Snyman made the cut on the number, three-under, with a second round of two-under-par 70.
